In order to modify any existing BEx query in lower environments first step is to lock the query for which follow below steps:
1) Login to SAP Logon Dev system
2) Go to Transport Connection on left pane
3) Expand SAP Transport -> Click on Object Types -> Expand Query Elements -> Expand Query -> Double Click Select Objects and find for the query by providing technical name and once found click on transfer.
4) New pane will open on right similar to the one shown below. Click on the Display button next to Find and select List
5) For All except Query Element, right click each of them and select Do not Transport Any Below. For Query Element select Transport All Below. Then Click on Truck symbol (i.e. Transport Objects).
6) It will ask for Request no#. If there is no request already present create a new request, save and transfer.
